There is a study shows that the private education sector is becoming a sunset industry. It is said that many institutions are facing massive losses due to reduced student enrollment and some in the process of closure.
Why does this happen?
There are 2 main reasons:
- Disruptive innovation – it has a role to play in creating more affordable, accessible and convenient education options.
- The business model of traditional institutions was broken.
I can talk more about our education system which we created. From the school system, the curriculum, the test, the course, the design, the teacher and the list goes on.
And I can talk about the impact of our education system that we have been created. What is the impact? Is it working or it is not?
If, it is working, why there are increasing number of dropouts. They choose to discontinue education because they said the classrooms are boring and subjects’ that were irrelevant to their lives and career aspirations.
If our education system is working, why there are still neglectful parents, disability, social problems, learning difficulties and although we are already in 2020 where the flying cars will be exist but underage marriage is still happen.
If it is working, why mental illness among primary school students are increasing, they fight with depression, anxiety and some more worst they even can think of suicide.
When there are so many vacancies in the job market and yet so many unemployed graduates, something must be wrong somewhere.
This is why we need ENTREPRENEUR to save our education system and do good to the society.
When I mention entrepreneur, do not think of Mark Zuckerberg who was dropout and then invented new apps & technology to change the world. Entrepreneurship that I’m talking about is entrepreneurship that is already in each of you. Entrepreneurship is a mind-set.
It is an empowering mind set, it is A BELIEF. It is believing that you are not just live in the society and go with the flow. You must empower the entrepreneurship in you so that you can affect the society, lead them, and innovate the system, start with local step.

Things are changing. People always have many options. There always have better ways in doing something.
The internet impact on society is now making economic, social and politic changes around the globe. Education become more accessible with the revolution of internet. I believe the future of education is a networked future. People can use the internet to create and develop new ways of teaching and learning that captivate and stimulate students’ imagination at anytime, anywhere using any device.
By connecting and empowering students and educators, we can speed up economic growth and enhance the wellbeing of society throughout the world. We should work together, over a network, to build the global learning society.
So, an entrepreneur within the education industry, is called, which I called EDU PRENEUR. With the revolution of internet & social media, edupreneur does not only limited her potential to only open a kindergarten, nursery, a school, a tuition centre or even a college or university.
Being an edupreneur in today disruptive world means creating a new capacity and a new horizon. It could be a new tool or a new education organization or movement with or without premises. Or it is also can be a new way to learn or a new way to share or developing the latest technology or apps or games or giving keynote speeches around the world without you really need to travel, actually. Some teach, some lead, some fix, edupreneurs start something new. That what makes them different and unique. They lead with entrepreneurial education mindset.
